Before You Leave Home

To help you enjoy a smooth and relaxing experience, we recommend:

  • Book your cruise in advance.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before departure.
  • Check the weather and dress comfortably.
  • Bring your booking confirmation, no print out needed.
  • Allow extra travel time during weekends and public holidays.
Departure Location

Our cruises depart from the Cultural Centre Pontoon at South Bank, conveniently located beside the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA).

The departure point is easy to reach by car, public transport or on foot.

Parking

The closest parking is the Cultural Centre Car Park.

We recommend parking in P2, which provides the easiest access to our departure point.

Please allow extra time during busy periods as parking may be limited.

Public Transport

The Cultural Centre is one of Brisbane’s major public transport hubs.

You can easily reach us by:

  • Walking from South Bank
Boarding

Boarding begins approximately 30 minutes before departure.

Our friendly crew will greet you at the pontoon and assist you before boarding.

Please have your booking confirmation ready.

What to Bring

We recommend bringing:

  • Sunglasses
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Camera
  • Comfortable footwear

A light jacket is also recommended during cooler months, especially if you plan to enjoy the open-air upper deck.

Food & Drinks

Guests are welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks onboard.

BYO alcohol is not permitted.

Our onboard café also offers a range of snacks, meals, barista-made coffee and cold drinks.

Luggage

Travelling with luggage? No problem.

There is no size limit, and your luggage can remain safely onboard while you explore Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary before returning to Brisbane.

Accessibility

Mirimar II is wheelchair accessible and includes an accessible toilet.

Please note there are approximately 28 steps between our pontoon and the entrance to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Our crew are always available to assist passengers with prams, luggage and mobility equipment where possible.

Weather

Our cruises operate in most weather conditions.

With air-conditioned indoor seating, covered outdoor areas and an open upper deck, you can enjoy the cruise comfortably in almost any weather.

River Conditions

The Brisbane River is generally calm and sheltered, making the cruise comfortable for most guests.

Seasickness is uncommon due to the protected nature of the river.

Wildlife

Keep an eye out for some of Brisbane’s native wildlife during your cruise.

You may spot:

  • Cockatoos
  • Rainbow Lorikeets
  • Australian White Ibis
  • White-bellied Sea Eagles

On rare occasions, guests may even witness a Bull Shark breaching the water while chasing fish.
